Citizen’s Assisted Patrol "CAP"

Our mission is to observe and report. CAP is a partnership with the Polk County

Sheriff’s Office. Volunteers patrol LRV on foot, by bike, or use one of the golf carts

provided by the Sheriff’s Office.

We are not law enforcement and do not carry weapons.

High visibility is the primary method to deter crime. Our golf carts have flashers and the sheriff’s badge on them. We wear T-shirts, caps or visors and identification badges with CAP logo on them. We are provided with phones to call 911 or the communication center if we need to report suspicious activity.

To become a CAP member contact Roger and Brenda LeBel at 863-438-4311. You will need to fill out an application. There is a background check that takes about 60 days. You will need to attend a one day training usually at a nearby community. An orientation will be given by Roger and Brenda for LRV.

Meeting notices will emailed to members and posted in the LRV Newsletter.
